Mike fell in love with astronomy at the Hayden Planetarium and eventually pursued an academic career at MIT and at the University of Texas. Just short of a Ph.D. he pivoted to software engineering and raising a family. Starting in 2005 he contributed limericks to OEDILF.com, an on-line dictionary in limerick form, where he has over 1600 published entries. Around that time he started writing fiction. Today he lives between the Siskiyou Mountains and the Southern Cascades in Oregon with his wife and two Bengal cats.
